Naylor Powell Support Reading Initiative

February, 2016

Naylor Powell Newent have donated 3 Kindle E-Books to Picklenash Junior School as part of their latest initiative to encourage young readers.

The new initiative involves introducing Kindles to the classroom.  The school were keen to invest in Kindles to help promote the engagement and enjoyment of reading for all of the children.  Technology is continuously developing and children today are exposed to a lot more electronically presented texts.  Teachers at the school felt that Kindles are the perfect way of incorporating a love for reading with devices children are becoming more familiar with on a daily basis. The aim is to engage the more reluctant readers as well as challenge their more able readers with the plethora of challenging text available.

Deputy Head Teacher, Andrew Taylor comments “As a school we are always seeing new ways to inspire a love of reading in children.  The support of a local business like Naylor Powell has given us the opportunity to purchase the technology to enable the school to develop an innovative approach to reading”

Newent Branch Manager, Adam Davis comments “We were delighted to support Picklenash School with this venture and hope that the Kindles we have donated will help to further develop the children’s love of reading”
