Should you use a Mortgage Broker?

February, 2016

If you are in the market for purchasing a new property of even looking to save money by switching to a better deal, you may want to consider using the knowledge and experience of a qualified Independent Mortgage Adviser to help you.

How will they be able to help?

They will be able to look beyond the interest rate and properly compare the overall cost of the mortgage and recommend a product that is right for you.

They will be able to explore the whole of the mortgage market. This would include deals that are not available on the High Street. This could save you money over the term of the mortgage.

Need help with your paperwork? They will help you with the paperwork to speed up the mortgage process and help take away some of the stress.

They will be able to liaise with the lender, solicitors, conveyancers, surveyors and even Estate Agents to make sure everything is progressing.

They will have a regulatory responsibility to ensure you are and your family are sufficiently protected if you were unable to make payments on your mortgage

Similarly, they will ensure your buildings and contents are sufficiently insured once you have moved in to your new home

They would be able to simplify mortgage jargon and explain exactly what is happening

The advice they give is regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority so you would be covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme.

Do you need to speak to someone?
We work with local Independent Mortgage Adviser, Steve Jevons from ‘Financial Associates Ltd’ who would be happy to meet you at a mutually convenient time and place to discuss your needs and offer advice.  Call your local Naylor Powell branch to enquire.

Your home may be repossessed if you do not keep up repayments on your mortgage.

Depending on your circumstances a Mortgage Adviser may charge a fee for mortgage advice. A fee of up to 1% of the mortgage amount may be charged and they may also be paid commission from the lender. On a loan of £100,000 this would equate to a maximum £1,000.
